Pedodonts

In pediatric patients (0-15 years old) The branch of dentistry that covers all necessary dental treatments is called pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry). Even in adult patients, dental treatments can be delayed because they cause fear and stress. Therefore, it is very important to approach children in pediatric patients. Losing the primary teeth in the mouth earlier than normal during childhood may cause deterioration in the positions of the permanent teeth and tooth crowding. Therefore, oral and dental health motivation and treatment from children is very important. With regular dental check-ups in children, problems can be diagnosed at an early stage, and many problems can be prevented with oral care and nutrition motivation. 1.  Communication in Pedodontics In pediatric dentistry treatments, communication with children is the most important step of treatment. Considering the child's physical and psychological development, the child should be informed about the choice of a minimum traumatic treatment and the importance of oral and dental health. The child and family should be informed about oral care and proper nutrition. The effects of sugary foods, which are frequently consumed by children, on oral and dental health should be emphasized on the family and the child, and the consumption of these foods should be limited. 2.  Prevention of caries formation - Emphasizing the importance of oral care and nutrition for family and child oral health protection -Fluorine gel applications: Fluorine gel applications form a more durable layer on the tooth enamel, protecting the tooth against caries. It is completely painless and very simple to apply.

Dental caries, especially in molars, starts from the recessed grooves in these teeth. These grooves are covered with a special material and fissure sealant treatment is applied to protect them from caries, and they are also called dental vaccines because they protect the teeth from caries for many years. The application is completely painless, needle-free and quite simple.
